Our Favourite Instagram accounts for At Home Workouts

Our Favourite Instagram accounts for At Home Workouts

We've all been in Quarantine now for about two months, and as some states and cities start to re-open, we are unsure of when our regular fitness studio or gym will re-open, or what that will even look like! Will we have to get our temperatures checked before we go into a yoga class? or will we have to wear a mask when going to the gym? There are so many unknowns right now but we do know, is that in the last two months we have had to venture into the world of at-home workouts to get our sweat on.

For many of us, we may already have gym memberships, studio memberships, class passes or some other investment into fitness, and the last thing we may want to do is to spend more money now on a Fitness App, or online classes because we cant go to your usual go-to studio/gym.

While we are on social media quite a bit for Karma Collective we did try out many workouts from the many LIVE classes that seem to be popping up on our feed every morning and every evening.  We've also noticed more accounts and fitness and health influencers sharing at home workouts.

So here are our some of our favourite accounts to follow for workouts at home.

1. Georgie Stevenson @georgiestevenson

Why do we love her and workouts?

She does both a combination of LIVE instagram workouts, IGTV and posts that layout the workout, and she's got great music that is already playing in her posts, so you can really get your gear on, and follow along. No excuses for missing a workout, as they are saved in her highlights, and you can workout live with her on IGTV!

Her feed and workouts are well organized, and you can see right away what type of workout you are looking for, and whether or not you will need equipment, its nice though, cause MOST of her workouts don't require anything, and you certainly do get a sweaty workout ! :)

No equipment? no problem, we love how Georgie gets creative with household items to show us how we can add weights to our workouts with everyday household items, like Laundry detergent!

She's also just very genuine, and we love her feed, her stories, and how she used to be a lawyer, who quit and followed her passion in health and fitness and now has an awesome RISE AND CONQUER podcast as well! We love her and have been following her for a while, and when this whole COVID thing happened, she started sharing these awesome home workouts with her community! Give one a try!

2. Kim French @kimfrench87

Why do we love her and workouts?

We love that 90% of her feed is workouts! And they are clearly labelled so that you can easily search from the images the kind of workout you are looking for!

The workouts are always available as they live on her feed, so no need to worry about missing a LIVE, you can workout on your own time, and if you feel like focusing on more than one area, there are so many exercises to choose from!

She shows you how to correct your form, which a lot of accounts don't do. She has posts that showcase common mistakes for certain exercises and how to correct them.

We also love her workouts if you want something a little more, she uses a lot of resistance bands, so if you are able to get you hands on some of those from amazon, or your local fitness store, its a great way to change up your workout.

Resistance bands and tubes have been proven to improve strength, size, and function of muscles. You can also easily adjust the tension to increase or decrease the intensity of your workout.

Follow along for all round great workouts from the comfort of your own home.

3. Marlie Cohen @kale_and_krunches

Why do we love her and workouts?

We love this down to earth Canadian health and fitness blogger! We have also been following her for over a year now and love how authentic she is!

Her feed isn't primarily focused on workouts like some of the other accounts that we have mentioned, but what we love about her is that she is a new mom with a 1-year-old baby and she shares how she is able to find time to fit in a workout, and essentially balance in her life through her stories and feed!

We have done many of her workouts, some LIVE ones that she has done with other fitness bloggers, and others that we have just seen on her feed that we have followed along. She has a great variety of workouts, which we love, and because she recently had a baby, she has some great post party workouts, and prenatal ones as well. So this is great if you are a new mom, or soon to be a mom!

She's also got a whole program for prenatal workouts you can sign up for, but if you are on a budget, you can follow along the workouts she has on her feed and LIVEs.

In addition, speaking of moms out there, she's got great recos for everything baby!

Follow along for great workouts, lifestyle and fitness tips and recipes, but also cute baby spam of her daughter Lily and how she keeps it altogether.

4. Nikki Bergen @thebellemethod

Why do we love her and workouts?

This mama is not only a Pilates Trainer, but also a Pelvic Health Expert. So her feed is filled not only with great prenatal workouts and stretches, but also stretches to relieve back pain, pelvic floor workouts and how to reduce labor pains! If you are pregnant and want to stay active and engaged in your pregnancy, Nikki is the one to follow!

Her workouts are featured both on her feed and on IGTV so that you can easily find what you are looking for and you can also follow along her journey and workouts for each trimester.

We just love that she is focused on prenatal and postnatal as many workouts and exercises need to be adjusted for our pregnant mommas!

She is super informative, and explains and talks you through all her exercises. No background music playing in these workouts, but you really get the low down on your form and the exercise itself, which is great when you are pregnant, as you want to ensure you aren't doing anything that could harm your precious bun in the oven!

Thanks Nikki for all the great tips and workouts! And congrats on your new baby boy that just arrived on Mothers day!

5. Jessica  @gunning4fitness

Why do we love her and workouts?

So much to love about Jessica! First of all she is a 40 year old mom to 4 kids and she looks amazing! She has worked hard, and she looks strong AF!

Her feed is filled with so many workouts, ones that involve weights (if you happen to have scored a set at home), resistance bands and body weight. But even if you don't have a set of weights, we have done some of the workouts with cans, or 2 litre bottles filled with water, so there are ways you can get creative with making your own weights.

Nothing fancy here, but straight up workouts, the descriptions are always in the post captions, and because there is no music, you can put your own playlist on in the background while you work out with her.

We just love the variety of workouts she has on her feed, and she is just inspiring!

6. Olivia Ostrom @oliviaostrom_

Why do we love her and her workouts?

We recently started following her and instantly fell in love with her feed. Why? It almost feels like when we go to her page that we are opening an app with all these workouts at our fingertips.

She's also got a variety of workouts and uses the laundry detergent as a weight in many of her workouts as well if you don't have weights at home. She write all her workouts down in her post captions, and as you workout and swipe thru the post images, it also tells you what exercise you are doing and how many sets to do.

Because the workouts aren't live, we usually turn the sound off, and have the exercise on repeat as we do the sets, and have our own music on in the background.

She also is a mama, and so if you scroll back through her posts you can see some prenatal and postnatal workouts as well so she's got it all on her feed!
